Spirited Music Journal

Editorial policy

Spirited Music Journal aims to make music subjects clear, engaging, and fair to the people and traditions being discussed. We distinguish explanation from opinion, take care with factual claims, and make changes when a piece needs correction.

Accuracy and context

We check names, terminology, dates, and other factual details against suitable sources before publication. Musical traditions and practices can vary across communities and settings, so we avoid presenting one example as universal. When evidence or interpretation is uncertain, the wording should make that uncertainty clear rather than smooth it away.

Editorial independence

Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers and fit with the publication's subject. A commercial relationship does not determine our conclusions or guarantee favourable coverage. We do not present promotional claims as independent editorial judgement.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us with the article title and the detail in question. We review correction requests and update material when warranted; significant changes should be made clear to readers. A correction is part of keeping the publication dependable, not an interruption to its work.

Partners and illustrations

Sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial content. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, that fact is identified alongside the image. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.
